The Fall 2015 group of honorees in the 新彩网 Heroes employee recognition program has been named.
Heroes are chosen because they represent the college well, provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers and constantly promote the 新彩网 mission of service. Heroes selected receive a lapel pin, a token of appreciation and one free day off work.
In alphabetical order, this semester鈥檚 honorees are:
Tamisha Armstrong of Vicksburg, a support center manager for the Information Technology Department at the Raymond Campus. Her duties include ensuring all Information Technology needs are met for the campus. She has been with 新彩网 for four years.
Vanda Brumfield of Raymond, district program director for Dual Enrollment and Special Programs. Her office is on the Raymond Campus. Her duties include responsibility for the policies and procedures of the programs, coordinating with all high schools in the district. Additionally, she is a District Associated Student Government adviser. She has been with 新彩网 for four years.
Louise Flanagan of Raymond, secretary in the Art, Speech, Theater, Dance, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, departments. She assists department chairs in the acquisition, procurement, receiving and processing of department needs, processes student and class records and routine clerical tasks. She has been with 新彩网 for 16 years.
Gary Fox of Jackson, academic dean of the Rankin Campus. He recommends instructors for hiring and schedules classes for instructors and leads academic faculty. He has been with 新彩网 for 25 years.
Clifford Irving of Raymond, a leader in the Facilities Use Department. He ensures facilities are set up for events in a pleasant and timely manner. He has been with 新彩网 for 27 years.
Virginia Kitchens of Utica, an administrative assistant and office manager for Economic Development and Training at Eagle Ridge Conference Center on the Raymond Campus. Among other duties, she handles purchasing and receiving office supplies and equipment, coordinating resources for CEU credits and coordinating noncredit online classes. She has been with 新彩网 for 20 years.
Mary Lee McDaniel of Madison, district director of Counseling at the Raymond Campus. Her duties include teacher, counselor and curriculum specialist for the district. She has been with 新彩网 for 12 years.
Cynde Mott of Vicksburg, an instructor and department chair for Business Administration at the Vicksburg-Warren Campus. Her duties are instructing academic classes for business and coordinating the curriculum for the department. She has been with 新彩网 for 24 years.
Gwendolyn Strong of Utica, a processor with the Admissions Department at the Utica Campus. Her duties include receiving incoming phone calls, handling registration, greeting customers and processing mail, transcript requests, withdrawal forms and graduation forms. She has been with 新彩网 for 46 years.
Andrew Thomas of Vicksburg, a janitor and floor technician at the Vicksburg-Warren Campus. He has been with 新彩网 for five years.
Jackie Waite of Brandon, department chair for Business/Office Technology. Her duties include leading online instructor and teaching Business Office Technology courses. She has been with 新彩网 for 27 years.
Andi Winnett of Florence, a coordinator for the first-year Associate Degree Nursing program. Her duties include teaching theory to first- and second-semester nursing students and taking them to clinical training. She has been with 新彩网 for 10 years.
